Switch your old analog TV by February 17, 2009
Install your digital converter box if you already have one at home. You need this box if you are continuing to use your old analog TV after February 19, 2009. Besides your TV, analog-only VCRs or DVD recorders may require a converter box as well. Audio settings may have to be re-adjusted.
Each U.S. household may request up to two $40 coupons to help pay for the converter boxes. Call 1-888-388-2009 for the coupons.
For Seniors in the Seattle area, we can purchase a converter for you, assist with installation and configuration, and offer suggestions for your home TV.
By early 2009, all TV will be digital, and a host of Internet-enabled HDTVs could be arriving in Best Buy and Circuit City stores. TV Ads will automatically link to Web-based content with a push of the button on your remote control.

Buy Digital Converter Boxes by February 17, 2009
Install your digital converter box if you already have one at home. You can buy this box (and the antenna below) at Radio Shack stores. You need this box if you are continuing to use your old analog TV after February 19, 2009 to receive broadcast TV stations.
The Zenith DTT901 Digital Converter ($59 USD) comes with a TV tuner and analog signal pass-through. It performs well, pulling in atsc signals from as far away as 20 miles. The $40 coupon can be applied to this box.
If you get weak signals after installing the converter box, then you should consider hooking this Terk antenna to the box:
The Samsung DTB-H260F ($169 USD) will pull in both TV broadcast signals and QAM digital cable signals, and send the signals to your old analog TV set and/or to the HDTV set. This box is not eligible for the $40 coupon.
You save on your Comcast bill by opting for limited cable. You get the additional TV channels from free TV broadcast programming and free unscrambled cable programming.
