Driving Directions: The Redmond Riverwalk

Most people have heard of the Promenade in San Antonio, Texas. Not many know of this gem of a Riverwalk right in Redmond, Wa., home of Microsoft. Imagine an easy 2-mile walk or bicycle ride along a lazy river, plenty of rustic wildlife, 30 minutes from Seattle. Then shop at the classy Redmond Town Center and take in a movie or two. Tour the Microsoft Art Collection, open to the public one Thursday each month.

Click on the yellow movie icon in the map below, and select "Get Directions" to here.

Driving Directions: Silver Cloud Inn, Seattle, Wa to the Preston-Snoqualmie Trail

This 30-mile drive takes about 40 minutes from Seattle. From I-90, get off at Exit 22 (Preston/Fall City) and proceed to Preston and pick up the Preston-Fall City Road. Continue about 3 miles and turn right onto Lake Alice Road. About a mile down this road is the trailhead for Preston-Snoqualmie Trail. The trail from here is 1.8 miles to the Snoqualmie Falls lookout.

Elevation: 400 feet. Bicycles okay. Easy, pleasant walk on a paved road.

Click on the above link for driving directions. If you are lucky, you can catch a deer on the paved trail in the summer.

At the end of the walk is the lookout with Snoqualmie Falls in view 3 miles away. The Snoqualmie Ridge is in the background.
